Amy, Michelle, and I went to Pokagon State Park for a little weekend getaway before Christmas last year. One of the biggest reasons we wanted to go to Pokagon is their toboggan ride. None of us had been on a toboggan ride before. We were surprised at how stinkin' heavy those things are! Holy cow! Not only is the toboggan awkward and heavy but, you have to carry it up this huge hill and up some stairs! (and yes, it was uphill both ways in 10 feet of snow) Once you get to the top of the stairs, there is a "loading dock". Getting on the toboggan was a site in itself...I was in back with my legs wrapped around Amy and Michelle (who was in front) was holding my feet. Amy's feet were wrapped around Michelle's waste. The employees of the park were emphatic about not swaying because it could make the toboggan tip and don't reach for your hat if it flies off...Because you could tip. The adreneline in all of us was at it's peak. The next thing we hear is " One, two, three, go!!" and we're off. Michelle is screaming the first couple of seconds....and then there's not a peep from anyone of us. Everyone else you see is having a good time...screaming, laughing, hootn' and hollarin'. Not us though... All we could concentrate on was keeping still and looking straight ahead. After approx 45 seconds of pure silence we finally came to rest at the bottom of the hill. We all agreed that one toboggan ride was good enough!
